Muppets Return with Once A Year Day!

We started learning the dance to "Once A Year Day" - another song in The Pajama Game.

First, I almost died from last Friday's Steam Heat rehearsal... now I'm dead. This show is going to take a lot out of me. I don't think I've danced this intensely in any other show I've done with John at BCT.

There's jump roping, gun twirling, acrobatics - none of which I partake in because I just want to have a calming ensemble role this time instead of getting stuck doing quick changes every other scene like Urinetown.

We're rehearsing "Once A Year Day" again tonight... and tomorrow it's reviewing Steam Heat... kill me now!

Art! ... Deco!

I finished my new layout! I still want to change the main colors though, I'm not sure if the grays really work with the rest of the color scheme of the page, but I'll leave that for another time.

If you missed my pin-stripe layout, which I had for only a short time, here's a picture!


The spacing was off a little bit, and I didn't think it matched the "Center-spot" theme. So, I had to change it.

I pretty much spent my entire free-time yesterday making the 'art deco' background/banner for my blog and trying to figure out the HTML of my template. I was planning on playing some bioshock to finish my geek streak, but my blog's "outer wrapper" was giving me some hard times.

I did find out how to put a background image on my blog, as well as what margins, padding, float, $startSide, and $endSide mean and how to effectively add them to my blog. So the day wasn't a total waste.

On top of that - we had a performance, and it went really well - although there were some comments that for a Saturday audience it was pretty bland, but I didn't think so.

"C2," My Fingers Punched

Let me tell you of something so horribly delicious but so junkie that I have refused to look at the Nutrition Facts because I want to eat them forever.

Mrs Freshley's Crunch Mini Donuts is the name, and tickling my tastebuds is the game! They're pretty much mini donuts powdered with coconut and brown sugar mix. They make me happy when I'm having a horrible day at work. What can I say, I eat my feelings. Thank god for theatre giving me a high metabolism!

Everyone knows I love them, and one coworker even told me that they would buy me a case of them... no strings attached... uh huh, that's weird. You would just buy me a case for nothing? What if I said I loved money? Would you buy me a case of that? Please?

We had a "get to know your co-worker" survey, and I listed 'Mrs Freshley's Crunch Mini Donuts from the vending machine' as my favorite food. It got a corporate chuckle during the "get to know your co-worker" get together.

Today, I found out that they added a second row of the mouth-watering goodness in the break room! I have single handedly changed the vending machine economy here on the 6th floor. Demand is IN for crunch and OUT for chocolate mini donuts. Too bad so sad for the chocoholics, time to jump on the coconut bandwagon I say!

My show opens next thursday and I'm already exhausted. I don't get a day off from theatre until the 29th of the month. I'm so tired. HELP ME MRS FRESHLEY!

A Lesson On Procrastination With Kermit The Frog

6 half-empty water bottles, 4 half-full diet coke cans, numerous pieces of mail I tossed aside after opening them, 13 cds I had intended to load onto my iTunes, and a bag of candy (that I still haven't touched since I brought it home after a corporate party mid-december) all decorate my desk and beautifully accentuate my desktop computer. I won't go into all that has found its way to my floor.

All of this has accumulated in the past week. I come home from work, maybe mess it up a bit, and leave to go to rehearsal. When I come home, I'm tired or I decide to watch some tv in the small amount of "me" time before bed. Usually my weekend consists of cleaning up any mess I may have created from the few days prior.

Today, instead of cleaning up my clutter, I decided to first try to find some blog inspiration. I want to keep this thing up and running, even if it means keeping my room messy for another hour or so.

My mind goes through a list of things to write about, and fate just happened to settle my mind on "Kermit The Frog". It changed my life forever.

I go to Youtube, type in my search, and the first entry that pops up has something to do with Kermit's reaction as he watched a shocking video called 2 girls, 1 cup. Curiosity got the best of me, and I had to find out what this video was. The actual video wasn't on youtube that I could find, but it had a huge collection of people's reactions, including those from Peter, Brian, Stewie, and Chris from Family Guy, which I LOVE btw. If finding this video wasn't for any real reason, it would be to understand this reference in one of my all-time favorite shows.

Google found the original video right away, and let me give you a tip - don't procrastinate cleaning your room by searching on Youtube, you will be punished by a higher power. Now, turn your mind off right now and erase everything I said in this entry about the video 2 girls, 1 cup. Don't let your curiosity get the best of you and try to find it. It's not worth it. I do not endorse such behavior. Cleanse your mind.

Ok, now that you've backtracked a little bit, we will take another path, and entice you with this oh so cuddly and innocent video of Kermit the Frog singing Lime in the Coconut. Watch it and feel warm inside as the muppets sing cute lyrics like "froggy bought a coconut" and "relieve this flipper ache." I'm going to go clean my room.
